Wedding Invitation Wording: 15 Samples in English and Hindi
Ready-to-use wedding invitation wording for Indian weddings, in English and Hindi: traditional, modern, from the parents, from the couple, and for every function.

The words on a wedding invitation do a lot of quiet work. They tell guests who is hosting, how formal the day will be, and how much you'd love them to be there. Here are 15 samples you can copy, change and use, whether you're printing cards or sending a digital invitation on WhatsApp.
What every wedding invitation should include
Before the wording, check you have the essentials. Guests look for these first:
- Who is inviting: the parents, both families, or the couple themselves
- The couple's names: usually the bride's name first in a bride-side invitation, and the groom's first on the groom's side
- The functions: mehendi, haldi, sangeet, wedding and reception, each with its own date and time
- The venue: full address and, ideally, a map link
- How to reply: a phone number, or an RSVP button if your invitation is digital
Keep the main text short. Details like dress codes, parking and stay can go on a second card, or further down a digital invitation.

Tips for getting the wording right
- Match the tone to the family. A traditional bride-side card and a couple-hosted city wedding can sound very different, and both are right.
- Spell every name carefully. Double-check titles (Shri, Smt., Dr.) and both sets of parents' names with the elders.
- Write dates in full. "Sunday, 14 February 2027" is clearer than "14/2".
- Keep one invitation per function, or one clear schedule. Guests attending only the reception shouldn't have to read through every ritual.
- Read it aloud. If it sounds stiff, it probably is.
Make it feel like you
Wording sets the tone, but how the invitation arrives matters too. A Wisherly wedding invitation carries your story, both families, every function and the venue in one link your guests open on their phone, with RSVPs you can track. Pick a style, paste in the wording you like from above, and it's ready in about ten minutes.
